Saluting the Spirit of Freedom: Banyan Tree School Marks 78th Independence Day

Chandhigarh : Banyan Tree School Chandhigarh – a co-educational CBSE affiliated school in the heart of Chandigarh offering contemporary education, holistic development and instilling pursuit of excellence is proud to celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day today with a grand function showcasing the spirit of freedom and patriotism.

Shri Anil Kumar Parashar,Former Joint Registrar,National Human Rights Commission India was Chief Guest. Program began with the Flag unfurling by the Chief Guest in the presence of Dr. Jayeta Auddy, Director, Seema Singh,Vice Principal Senior,Sonal Singh,Vice Principal Middle, Nisha Wadhwa, Junior Wing, Namaya Saraf, Coordinator, other invited dignitaries, teachers and above all students accompanied by their parents. Students of the Banyan Tree School played patriotic skits Sung patriotic songs and recited poetry including poem written by Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji Former Prime Minister of India

Shri Parashar, Chief Guest in his address paid tribute to the brave men and women who fought tirelessly for our freedom struggle,their sacrfices and their unwavering dedication to the cause. He particularly paid homage and remembered the important role played by S/Shri Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru Sardar Patel Bhagat SingSubhash Chandra Bose and many many others.Mr Parashar laid more emphasis on Article 51A of our Constitution Fundamental Duties and appealed to the students/youth/children to have strength of character,toughness of mind and spirit to face dangers and overcome them without given in to panic.

As we celebrate our independence, we should also acknowledge the progress we have made as a nation . However Parashar stressed that there’s still much more work to be done and to ensure that every Indian has access to the opportunity and resources they deserve.

Lastly Mr Parashar reiterated that every Indian must recommit and contribute to the development of our country so that Bharat becomes developed country by 2047.

Dr. Jayeta Auddy Director of Banyan Tree School thanked each and everyone including the Chief Guest for their presence despite heavy rain. Program ended with the plantation of trees in the memory of freedom fighters
