New Delhi. Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, who led the ceasefire between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor, is once again in the headlines. On June 4, he was awarded the Uttar Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM). Also, on Monday, he has been appointed DGMO as well as Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy).

Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai’s daughter Sharan Ghai has shared an emotional post for her father. In this post, she has called her father a “cool” father.

Awarded with Uttam Yudh Seva Medal

Let us tell you that Uttam Yudh Seva Medal is a high wartime military honor. Usually this medal is given for any exceptional service given during the conflict. It is a unique distinguished service medal, which is given to the armed forces including many departments of the army.

Led Operation Sindoor

Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai led the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor. During this, the army targeted 9 terrorist bases of Pakistan and killed more than 100 terrorists.

Enforced ceasefire between India and Pakistan

Frightened by the attacks of the Indian Army, Pakistan came to its knees. In such a situation, Pakistan’s DGMO called Indian counterpart Lieutenant Rajiv Ghai and offered to end the tension. Only after this a ceasefire was implemented between the two countries.

Has led the Chinar Corps

Before being appointed to the post of DGMO of India, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai has also led the Chinar Corps in Jammu and Kashmir. He is one of the experienced officers of the Kumaon Regiment. He also visited the India-Myanmar border earlier this year after the situation worsened in Manipur.
