Dwarka Forum and Indian Medical Association done joint declaration

Dwarka , In recent years, the relationship between the public and healthcare professionals has faced numerous challenges. The increasing complaints about excessive prescriptions, unnecessary procedures, and exorbitant bills have fuelled mistrust and dissatisfaction among patients. Concurrently, healthcare professionals are striving to perform their duties under strenuous conditions, including the pressures of consumer protection laws, inflation, maintaining high standards in medical facilities, and sometimes facing hostile behaviour from patients and their attendants.

Keeping this in mind after long deliberation and serious of meetings between Dwarka Forum and Indian Medical Association (Dwarka ) have come up with a joint declaration for better understanding and a step forward to bridge the gap between doctor and civil society. This was signed on 1st September 2024 at IPSC Hospital Dwarka in presence of ACP Dwarka Sri Madan Lal Meena , Dr Preetam Pankaj, President IMA Dwarka, Sri Sushil Kumar one of the founders of Dwarka Forum ,Sri Kaushal Khanna Vice President DF,Ms Sucheta Sinha Secretary DF, and representatives of IMA Dwarka.

On behalf of Dwarka Forum it was signed by Ms Anjana Sinha, General Secretary whereas on behalf of IMA Dr Harshita Convenor (PR) signed. ACP Meena also signed it as a witness.
This joint declaration aims to highlight the challenges faced by doctors and emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and understanding. It seeks to educate the public on the complex realities of medical practice and foster a more cooperative and respectful relationship.
